Fijian Bongo Chilli – A bold, productive Habanero with tropical roots.
The Fijian Bongo Chilli, a vigorous Capsicum Chinense variety, hails from Fiji and is celebrated for its robust growth and impressive productivity. Whether cultivated in pots or directly in the ground, this sturdy plant grows well without staking, making it a low-maintenance yet rewarding addition to any garden. It produces an abundance of large, vibrant red pods, which start as light green and mature into a rich, fiery red. Each pod measures approximately 6–7 cm long and 2–3 cm wide, offering habanero-level heat paired with a fruity, aromatic flavour typical of Chinense varieties. Perfect for sauces, spicy salsas, or fresh use, the Fijian Bongo combines tropical flair, prolific yields, and bold flavour—a standout for both ornamental and culinary chilli growers.
